The shift

From "I'm broken" to "a part of me feels this."

In IFS, the anxious one, the worried one, the part that plows through — none of them are the whole of you. There's a calm, clear center underneath. Two hours is enough to feel the space open up.

What you'll learn

Leave with tools you can actually use

Not theory about your mind — a working relationship with it.

01

See your emotions as parts — so you stop being consumed by them and start relating to them instead.

02

Notice when you're blended with a part — so you can create distance and stop being driven by feelings you can't explain.

03

Understand why trauma stays stuck long after the event — and what actually moves it, so time isn't your only hope.

04

Access your Self — the compassion and clarity already inside you — so you lead from it instead of reacting from old wounds.

05

Apply IFS to your relationships — so you stop reacting and start seeing what's really happening between you and the people you love.

Live exercise

Ty guides you through a part-mapping exercise, so you leave with direct experience of your own system — not just knowledge about it.

What we'll do together

Two hours, start to finish

01

The story

Ty opens with his own — 20 years of stuck grief, and the single IFS session that resolved what years of therapy couldn't.

02

The framework

Parts, Self, and blending — the three building blocks of IFS — in plain language, no jargon.

03

The shift

From "I'm broken" to "a part of me feels this." The reframe that changes how you see yourself.

04

Live Q&A

You share what you're struggling with. Ty responds with IFS — live, on real situations.

05

The experience

A guided part-mapping exercise. You work with your own system — not a hypothetical.

06

What's next

An honest invitation to go deeper — only if it's right for you.

What we'll do together in the IFS workshop

A live, guided experience — not a slideshow.

What makes this different

What we left out on purpose

Pathologizing

IFS doesn't label you broken or disordered. Every part of you — even the difficult ones — is trying to help. We start there.

Passive learning

You won't watch slides. By the time it ends, you'll have already worked with your own system, in real time.

Clinical gatekeeping

IFS has 40+ years of research behind it. Ty's job is to get it out of the therapy room and into your hands.

Filler

Two hours: a personal story, clear teaching, live Q&A, and a guided exercise. That's it.

Ty Cutner

Ty's life started with trauma and grief. His father was killed before he was born, and his mother passed when he was 15 — a loss that left a part of him frozen in 1996.

Years of traditional therapy didn't touch it. Then in 2021, in a single session with IFS founder Dr. Richard Schwartz, it resolved. That convinced him to get trained — through the IFS Institute's inaugural Fellowship — not to practice as a therapist, but to translate IFS for everyday people.

  • Coached over 4,000 men through divorce, separation, and trauma recovery using IFS
  • Invited to speak at the IFS Conference in 2022 — within six months of certification — and again in 2023
  • Contributing author to the bestselling Freeing Self: IFS Beyond the Therapy Room
  • One of very few Black men prominent in the IFS community

IFS helped me discover an inner healing resource that allowed me to reconnect with parts of myself I didn't even realize I'd lost. The tools Ty shares, combined with the way he teaches them, have been truly transformative in how I relate to myself. I now approach my thoughts, emotions, and experiences with greater self-compassion and understanding.

Ty has helped me see that my addictive, debting, and codependent behaviors aren't who I am — they're parts of me that have been trying to protect me. Through his compassionate IFS coaching, I'm learning to lead from my authentic Self instead of reacting from wounded parts. His patience, insight, and ability to create a safe space have made a meaningful difference in my healing journey. I highly recommend working with him.

Learning about Internal Family Systems (IFS) has given me the understanding I needed to connect with myself on a much deeper level. It helped me understand my parts and why they weren't able to work together in a way that supported my overall well-being.

Now that I have knowledge of my parts and how they operate, I can recognize when one of them is triggered or has come forward. Instead of reacting automatically, I'm able to notice what's happening, slow down, and work with the emotions before they spill outside of my system. My parts come to me first, and we communicate — I can understand what they're trying to express and speak for them, rather than being overwhelmed by them.

Before discovering IFS, I wasn't able to do that. This new awareness has changed my life tremendously, and I'm incredibly grateful for the insight and guidance that made this healing possible. Thank you, Ty.

I met Ty about 20 years ago when we worked together for a short time. About a year ago we reconnected, and he shared that he had written a chapter in a book and recorded the audio as well — Freeing Self: IFS Beyond the Therapy Room. What I wasn't expecting was the impact it would have on me. I was so moved that I immediately started recommending it to the people I care about.

I've had the opportunity to work alongside Ty this past year, and it's been tremendous. Ty has a way of teaching IFS that goes beyond explaining a concept — he lives it. Watching how he embodies IFS has inspired me to become more self-aware, more reflective, and more intentional. It has strengthened my relationships with my husband, my children, my mom, and my sisters, helping me approach old patterns with more curiosity and compassion.

I'm incredibly proud of what Ty has created — and grateful for the friendship, the mentorship, and the chance to witness someone turn a vision into something that's making a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Working with Ty through IFS has significantly changed how I understand myself and others. I used to experience myself as one conflicted person who should somehow "get his act together." Through IFS, I began to understand that I have an internal family of parts, each carrying its own fears, burdens, and needs — and that shift has helped me relate to myself with more curiosity and compassion.

One of the earliest impacts came as Ty helped me process the trauma surrounding the end of my marriage and the loss of the identity I'd known as a husband and father. Through IFS, I learned I could create some space between myself and the hurting part of me — and once I had a little distance, I could acknowledge it, listen to it, and care for it. It felt very much like being a dad to myself. Instead of being consumed by the pain, I could turn toward it with care, and the change was almost immediate.

This work hasn't erased every struggle, but it's fundamentally changed my relationship with myself. I no longer see my inner life as a mess to control or eliminate, but as an internal family that longs to be known and cared for. I'm deeply grateful for Ty's guidance — and for the fun, compassion, and hope our work has brought into my life.
